The Bluff Heights District of Long Beach is one of the cities oldest residential area and is now in the process of being approved as a historical district. It has homes dating to the early 1900's several build between 1908 and 1920.  With in the boundaries of Bluff Heights is "Carroll Park Historical District" and a historical area located on Lowena Drive.

Single family homes predominate the area with a mixture of Condominiums and Apartments. Homes range in size from are small 803 to 7500 Square Feet, they are by no means modest mostly on Raised Foundations, with Hardwood Floors. With contemporary architecture  of the period mostly craftsman style.
